July 27 & 28 Team Reports

July 28 Team Sharing.
Best parts of the day: painting most of the outside of the Riverside church, playing volleyball with the Apache church, swimming in the mountain stream with everyone, having a shared dinner with the Riverside church, meeting new friends, helping with the cow slaughter with the Riverside church that they will give to another church in thanks for their help with the addition.

July 27 Team Sharing.
Corryn, Jen & Katie Jones went out of their way to reach out to Jane, a single woman who doesn’t have close family or friends.

Greg helped coordinate the tent supplies, ‘cause the Apache men are very soft spoken and our group needed to hear what to do.

It pretty much took our entire team two hours to take down a giant circus tent that was used over the last few weeks for nightly revival services.

An incredible man, Moe, was with us all day. He is such a gentle man. Also an incredible prayer warrior and hard worker.

The church we are helping was so much alive, from the young children to the senior citizens. We have been told that only 5% of Native Americans are Christians, and life for them is extra hard because many have been shunned by their families for their faith.

Some of our guys began to install wallboard on the ceiling of the new community center. It’s hard work, but the guys stayed extra late.

Many of our teens were completely impressed and moved with Brother James’ stories of miracles and God’s transformation in his life. Dotta, a miracle child, had a precious gift of hugging and loving people. Many of us were moved to tears! After hearing

Jen loved interacting with Sarah and Dewey at the Apache Museum today. We spent several hours there and were powerfully impacted by the personal stories shared by the staff there.

Alexis Magnuson has already powerfully bonded with Dotta! It was so obvious that Dotta chose Alexis.

Wes was drawn to an older man today and had a great laugh when they both learned that their names were the same. So whenever someone said “Wes” today, both men responded.

Our lodging here in Pinetop is luxurious! We have about eight sleeping areas, four showers, worship space and Sherry’s food is awesome!

Today we washed down the complete outside of the church building in preparation for painting tomorrow.

A moment to describe our setting. We are up in the mountains of eastern Arizona, somewhere between six and ten thousand feet elevation. Pine trees are everywhere. We see lots of horses and livestock. The weather peaks out at about 85 degrees and it cooled down to somewhere in the 50’s last night.

It’s time to get to worship so good night and keep praying for us!
We really love it here and our apprehension about reaching out to an unfamiliar people group has vanished. We can’t wait until tomorrow!

About to Leave California

We wrapped up our Saturday night at the Steubenville Youth Conference with a great night of Eucharistic Adoration and prayer ministry. Our teens and adults have been fantastic and we've really been bonding very well!
Everybody's healthy, though many of us are still quite sunburned from our afternoon in the ocean yesterday. The aloe bottle is gettting passed around lots.

The schedule for Sunday is: Traveler's Mass for our mission team at 8:00am, then it's off to Arizona, picking up our worship leader, Jim, at the Phoenix airport. By 7:30pm Mountain Time, we're hoping to pull into Pinetop, Arizona.

We're really excited to be going to Arizona now! Full of the Spirit, we're ready to give!

We don't know when we will next have internet access. We've read that it's illegal to take pictures on the reservation without permission.
Life here is amazing! I am getting really excited for arizona! Tonight should be the perfect preparation..thanks to everyone for prayers -brian
Just got done with workshops and it's so nice and sunny out Got to love California

Brendan says, even tho I'm sunburn a little, I'm havin an amazing confrence. Great adoration and probably the best mass I've ever been to. Praise God!
